Just like traditional clothing, traditional footwear is as much an important aspect of culture as any other manifestations of history and heritage. The intricate craftsmanship and rich heritage of traditional Indian footwear have long captured the attention of the fashion industry. Jutti brand Needledust is one such footwear brand that has captured the essence of this art form. Mainly popular across northern India and initially worn only by the elites, over the years juttis have become a symbol of ethnic traditional footwear for all strata of society.
How it all started
Shirin Mann Sangha, Founder and Creative Head of Needledust, claims to be an accidental entrepreneur. As a child she admired her mother wearing juttis and always loved the craft. But the idea of making struck her when she could not find the right juttis for her own wedding.
She founded the brand in 2014. Over the years, Needledust has gained a prominent position in the jutti market, captivating customers both in India and internationally.
Worn by celebrities like Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, and more, in 8 years, it has become a leading jutti brand internationally, enjoying support of a large clientele worldwide.
