BACKGROUND On October 1, 1964, the inaugural Bullet Train between Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka started running on the Tokaido Shinkansen. The Tokaido Sanyo Kyushu Shinkansen runs through the centre of Japan, connecting Tokyo, Shizuoka, Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, Hakata, Kumamoto, etc. The Tokaido Shinkansen is recognised for being far more environmentally friendly than other high-volume, high-speed transit options, as environmental concerns are rapidly increasing worldwide.
CHECK-IN I travelled on the Nozomi 220, from Osaka to Tokyo. The train was expected to depart from Shin Osaka station at 1030. I noticed that reservations can be made at Tokaido Sanyo Kyushu Shinkansen Online Reservation Service, from the ease of one's home. This is very convenient, as it enables passengers to make and alter their reservations anywhere. They can also board the Shinkansen with a QR ticket.
