As come to terms with the fallout from recent unprecedented events such as the pandemic and geopolitical strife, the facilities management industry is facing lots of uncertainty. As we roll with the punches, many of us are learning and adapting as we go and are coping really well. Maximising the opportunities presented by regional growth in FM is a challenge for each and every company.
Even with past successes and exciting future potential, this is no time for complacency. Competition with current players and yet to launch new players is hotting up. That means that established businesses need to be mindful of protecting their market share and margin in a new world. Differentiation and having a
strong business model is critical to success. In my experience as a global change management consultant, businesses often busy themselves by being very ‘operations’ focused, with heads down all the time. That can lead us to knee-jerk reactions, mistakes, poor practices, missed opportunities and dangerous norms.
To prevent this, I’d like to bring you back to the basic principles that are essential to help you tighten up your business model. This will give you the best chance of success in exploiting all opportunities.
