She defined digital transformation as the implementation of new digital technologies to improve all aspects of the manufacturing process. "This transformation can be approached holistically or implemented piece by piece, with software applications and digitisation being the primary drivers." She further outlined the numerous benefits of digital transformation in the manufacturing sector such as increased operational efficiency, improved product quality and innovation, and enhanced supply chain management.
