This extravagant event showcased the luminaries of Bengali Cinema, shining a spotlight on remarkable narratives, performances, and talents within the industry. Saurav Das, Sauraseni Maitra, and Parambrata Chatterjee charmed and entertained the audience as the evening's hosts, regaling them with their wit and charisma.
As the awards ceremony unfolded, deserving winners were honoured for their outstanding contributions to Bengali cinema. Prosenjit Chatterjee, a stalwart of the industry, was recognized for his stellar performance in Shesh Pata, winning the prestigious award for Best Actor In A Leading Role (Male). His portrayal captivated the audience and the critics alike, showcasing his versatility and depth as an actor. In his winner's speech, Prosenjit, popularly known as Bumbada, praised his director Atanu Ghosh for convincing him to play this role. He said he initially said no when he heard the narration but the director persisted and asked him to give it some more thought. He added that playing Balmiki wasn't easy and took a lot out of him.
He mentioned that filmmaking is a team effort and thanked everyone associated with the film for being there for him. Atanu Ghosh, who won the Best Director trophy as well as the Best Story and Best Dialogue trophy for his labour of love, reciprocrared by thanking Prosenjit for trusting in his vision and supporting him throughout. He pointed out that cinema progresses when stars willingly push the envelope and go beyond the obvious. He praised Prosenjit for always doing so and added that more and more stars are emulating the superstar.
