The Prince and Princess of Wales’s five-year-old son joined his parents and siblings Prince George, nine, and Princess Charlotte, eight, for the Big Help Out to celebrate the coronation.
And his antics were an instant hit. Video of the young Prince over the bank holiday weekend and taking part in the nationwide day of volunteering delighted fans who adore the royal family’s latest star.
IN HIS FAMILY’S FOOTSTEPS
Louis and his family were among the volunteers at 3rd Upton Scouts’ hut in Slough, Berkshire, working to reset a path, dig a new drainage system, sand and re-varnish the front door and add planters to the front of the building.
After the formality of the coronation at Westminster Abbey, the young royal was in his element and didn’t hesitate to get stuck in, from climbing into a digger with his father Prince William to adding his handprint to a mural.
He began by joining his sister to paint a planter, leading one volunteer to ask if he wanted to be a painter when he grew up. “No, a fighter pilot,” he answered, to which the woman replied: “Just like your father and grandfather!”
Proud mum Kate watched and encouraged the duo as they worked, saying: “Well done, Louis!” Charlotte, however, told her brother: “You’ve got paint in your hair! Louis, look at me! Look at me! You’ve got to wipe it.” She later warned him “careful” as he grew more confident with his brush.
William and George, meanwhile, were working together to drive screws into another planter, with the heir to the throne joking: “So far it’s still holding together.”
