And this autumn, her dreams of finally cracking the US seem closer than ever before, as she launches a milestone residency in Las Vegas.
The runaway success of Padam Padam, which took TikTok by storm and has been streamed more than 40 million times, combined with her residency – marking Kylie’s first Stateside tour performances since 2011 – may herald a conquering of America that has eluded her so far.
And the singer may surpass even her global success and status as Australia’s highest-selling female artist as she takes on her most lucrative gig yet, with artists who pull off successful residencies – including Frank Sinatra, Celine Dion, Lady Gaga, Sir Elton John, Britney Spears and Adele – often raking in more than $100m.
COME INTO MY WORLD
Kylie, 55, announced the news at a top-secret event at the Pendry Hotel in West Hollywood, where she spoke exclusively to hello!.
“It’s going to be an amazing time,” said Kylie, whose concert series at the Venetian Resort’s new entertainment venue Voltaire will run from November to January, with tickets going on sale this Wednesday. The focus of the show, she told us, is “glamour… a little bit of Vegas, but magic”.
Explaining why now is the right time to call fabulous Las Vegas her temporary home, Kylie said: “I always thought it would happen at some point. I think if I had done this earlier in my career, it might have been too early. If I’d done it too much later, I’d regret it being too much later.
