In the first of two engagements with children’s charities last week, Sophie travelled to Christopher’s Hospice in Guildford to meet youngsters being treated, as well as the families of those who had lost someone special.
With two children of her own – Lady Louise, 19, and the Earl of Wessex, 15 – the Duchess was hands-on as she played with a baby whose sibling is being cared for at the centre. She looked delighted to meet therapy dog Paddy, too.
She also sat down at the crafts table to chat to Lewis, who is being supported after losing his sibling, and was presented with a special canvas that had been created by children who use the hospice.
