Last season, Italian shoe and clothing brand Geox announced that Spanish actress Penélope Cruz had become its first-ever global
brand ambassador. Now the 49-year-old Oscar winner has joined forces with her younger sister, Mónica, 46, for the second instalment: a limited-edition capsule collection of footwear and clothing inspired by Mediterranean living.
Their edit features products from recycled, sustainable trench coats through to chunky ribbon-laced trainers as the sisters encourage women everywhere to feel confident and practise self-love.
We caught up with Penélope, mum to son Leo, 13, and ten-year-old daughter Luna with her actor husband Javier Bardem, to find out more…
What has working with Mónica on this capsule collection meant to you, Penélope?
“This isn’t the first time that I have designed with Mónica. We like working together and we are both passionate about fashion.
“On this occasion, we were inspired by Geox’s philosophy. Each single piece must meet stringent quality standards in terms of materials and technology, but it must also have plenty of contemporary verve.”
