But it was a particularly special night when the acclaimed actress m a deared - carpet debut accompanied by her musician husband Keith Urban and their two daughters – Sunday Rose, 15, and Faith Margaret, 13 – to receive the prestigious Life Achievement Award from the American Film Institute.
The couple prefer to keep their family away from the glare of the A-list spotlight, but Nicole, 56, was delighted to have her loved ones present at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre to make the occasion even more momentous.
PRIDE AND JOY
“Right there is the love of my life and the loves of my life,” she said. “My daughters have never been anywhere publicly with me on a red carpet. Tonight was their first night.”
She added: “It is a privilege to make films, and glorious to have made films and television with storytellers who allowed me to run wild and be free and play these unconventional women.
“Thank you for making me better at my craft and for giving me a place, however temporary, in this world.”
