One of the most memorable opening scenes of any 007 film, this tantalising introduction to The Spy Who Loved Me is still celebrated over four decades later, as is the actress, model and singer who starred opposite Roger Moore.
“Every week, I receive fan mail from all over the world,” she says with a smile, inviting HELLO! into her magnificent London residence as she releases her new single, That
Kinda Love, from her second album of the same name.
“After I’ve been away, there’s a whole stack of it waiting for me – it really makes my day.
“Once you’ve done a Bond movie, you’re immortalised,” she continues, showing us a framed watercolour of herself in the 1977 film. A gift from Los Angeles-based artist Geoffrey Marshall, who is an ardent fan, it takes pride of place on her sitting-room wall.
If any home could be described as the ultimate Bond girl’s state-of-the-art abode, it’s Susie’s.
The renovated six-storey Georgian townhouse, where she has lived for four years, features a sweeping staircase and an en suite dressing room brimming with designer handbags and dresses.
“I’m a huge fan of Dolce & Gabbana,” says Susie, who retains her slim figure through a no-sugar alkaline diet, daily power walks, yoga and personal training sessions.
“Domenico [Dolce] and Stefano [Gabbana] invited me for a shoot at their Bond Street store and featured me in a fabulous jewel-encrusted dress in their haute couture book.
“They enlarged and framed the photo and sent it to me for Valentine’s Day,” she says, proudly pointing to a picture on the wall.
