TWENTY YEARS AFTER FINDING FAME ON DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES' EVA LONGORIA BASTON ON TEAMING UP WITH A NEW GROUP OF WOMEN AND WHY YOUNG SON SANTIAGO IS A LITTLE PRO ON SET

She shot to fame playing feisty Gabrielle Solis in Desperate Housewives two decades ago - and Eva Longoria Bastón says fans of the hit show are in for a treat with her latest project.

"If you liked Desperate Housewives, you're going to love Land of Women," the 49-year-old actress says. "It revolves around great female characters -three generations of women: my mother, myself and my daughter."

Blending comedy, mystery and drama, the story begins with Eva's character Gala, her mother Julia and her daughter Kate suddenly fleeing their home in New York due to a situation involving Gala's husband.

They find themselves in Julia's hometown

in Spain, creating a classic fish-out-of-water scenario. "It's very funny and very dramatic," Eva says.

Filming outside Barcelona was an enjoyable experience, she adds, especially as the role gave her the opportunity to speak Spanish, a language she doesn't often get to use on screen. "My character is very much an American in Spain. She knows a little of the language, but not nearly enough, so we get to have a lot of fun with that."
