WOMEN ON TOP AT THIS YEAR'S FESTIVAL GLASTONBURY A-LISTERS ROCK UP TO SALUTE THE STARS - AND JOIN THEM ON STAGE

Shania Twain was among the leading ladies who very much impressed Glastonbury gig-goers when she performed at the annual music festival last week.

The popular country musician was joined on the bill by female stars including Dua Lipa, SZA and Cyndi Lauper, who all drew huge audiences to their sets at Worthy Farm in Somerset.

Shania, 58, was picked to fill the festival’s Legends slot, thanking her fans as she took to the stage in her trademark cowboy gear.

“Hats off to you, Glastonbury. I feel and see your support. Thank you so much for having me. This really is a city – it’s a community,” Shania told the audience, who went wild when she sang her hit That Don’t Impress Me Much.

British-Albanian singer Dua, 28, headlined the first night of the festival, attracting a big crowd as she performed a blistering set of her biggest hits, including Electricity and Houdini.

Performing on the Pyramid Stage was, she told the audience, a dream come true. “I’ve written this moment down and wished for it and dreamt it and worked so hard,” she said.

Her dream specifically included headlining on a Friday, so that she could enjoy the rest of the weekend as a festivalgoer.

True to her word, Dua was spotted with her actor boyfriend Callum Turner, mingling with the crowd at the Other Stage on Saturday, ahead of The Streets' evening set.

STARS GAZING
