He won an Oscar for directing 1990’s Dancing with Wolves and revived his TV career in the hit neo-western Yellowstone.
Yet 69-year-old Kevin isn’t finished with the genre yet. Instead, he has personally financed the four-part epic Horizon: An American Saga, which has taken him decades to bring to the big screen.
Not only is it the realisation of a long-held dream, but it also meant he could work alongside his 15-year-old son Hayes, from his former marriage to Christine Baumgartner.
“He had never acted before, but he did a good job,” Kevin says. “It’s a small part, but I was glad to be able to help him and that he was able to be with me on this, and that he was able to follow the level of direction I was able to give him.
