HYPERTENSION GETS A SHOT IN THE ARM!

BATTLING high blood pressure (HBP) may become easier than ever with an injection designed to be dosed once every six months instead of a daily pill!

More than half of the 122 million Americans diagnosed with HBP — also known as hypertension — don’t take all of their prescribed oral medication for the usually symptomless condition, raising their risk for stroke, heart attack and premature death. 

But experts say the breakthrough drug zilebesiran could revolutionize future treatment — and save lives.

“This is a potentially major development in hypertension,” says the University of Edinburgh’s Professor David Webb, part of an international research team examining the medication’s effects.
