Returns it to library 50 years later

Chicago man Chuck Hildebrandt gets to keep Baseball's Zaniest Stars after all!

THE book was almost five decades overdue, but 63-year-old Chuck Hildebrandt, of Chicago, wanted to make things right. So, on the 50th anniversary of its due date — Dec. 4, 1974 — he returned Baseball’s Zaniest Stars to the public library in Warren, Mich., outside Detroit.

Chuck met there with library director Oksana Urban, who waived the $4,563.75 fine — and as a bonus, said he could keep the book!
