Emmerdale star Daisy Campbell on playing a teen mum-to-be

‘AMELIA NEEDED THIS TO GROW AS A CHARACTER’

Daisy Campbell joined Emmerdale as Dan Spencer’s daughter Amelia way back in 2011. And it’s been a juicy part for the actress, as Amelia has since learned her uncle Daz was her biological father, she’s lost her mum Ali and she’s even been abducted.

But Daisy’s most shocking storyline must be this year’s revelation that teen Amelia is pregnant – and Samson is the dad. And as the soap’s 50th anniversary celebrations kick off with a violent storm, the birth will bring yet more drama.

Here, Leeds-born Daisy, 19, tells us more…

Hi Daisy! You’ve had a big storyline this year with Amelia’s pregnancy and she’s part of Emmerdale’s 50th anniversary story too, right?

Yeah, I was excited because I didn’t know until the start of the year about the baby story. And then I tried to book some holiday in August, and they were like, “No, you’ve got something in the 50th anniversary episodes that needs to be done.”

How is Amelia feeling about Noah right now?

I think they got off on the wrong foot. And I think she had that time where she didn’t want anything to do with him. She turned to Samson more but I feel like now they’re in a good place. It’s nice for Amelia, to be a little bit happy.
