Scarlett Moffatt has clearly been through a life-changing experience recently. The former Gogglebox star and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! winner is one of eight celebs to have spent eight days living in a pitch-black warehouse for Danny Dyer’s new Channel 4 series Scared Of The Dark.
“I feel like a different human being. I feel like I can conquer the world now,” she reveals. “I’ve never actually sat down and thought about how privileged I am to have sight. I have so much respect for anybody who has lost sight or is partially sighted because you don’t realise how much you rely on it.”
Scarlett, 32, joins boxers Chris Eubank and Nicola Adams, ex-Love Island star Chloe Burrows, footballing legend Paul Gascoigne, The Wanted’s Max George, actress Donna Preston and comedian Chris McCausland on the show, which challenges them to live in a Big Brother-style house while taking on terrifying challenges in the dark to win meals and treats.
The group relied heavily on Chris McCausland, who is blind, to get used to their circumstances, and Scarlett admits she was surprised by how close they all became.
“We weren’t expecting to get as much out of it as we did in the friendships that we’ve made,” she says. “I’m not saying that it was all easy or plain sailing, but we all had each other.”
For chatty Scarlett, keeping the conversation going was key. She adds, “What was the scariest is if there was ever a moment of silence.
