The Pride of Britain Awards ceremony at Grosvenor House in London is one of the most inspiring events of the year. Featuring extraordinary people from all walks of life and of all ages, it celebrates their remarkable achievements.
And greeting the nation's unsung heroes on the red carpet will be charming and captivating duo and Sam Thompson, 31, and Pete Wicks, 35.
The pair, who have forged a strong friendship since meeting on Celebs Go Dating in 2018, both have "cheeky chappie" personalities, but they're also big softies at heart.
When new catches up with them, Pete is running slightly late because he was caught in traffic on his way to Sam's house to film their hit podcast, Staying Relevant. As he joins us a couple of minutes in, Sam hilariously shouts, "It's Peter James Wick!" What an introduction! Here, the pair explain why it's "so special" to be a part of the Pride of Britain event and gush about the privilege of working with their "best friend". Plus they exclusively tell us why this special evening will be one of the proudest moments of their career yet...
Hi! Are you both looking forward to the Pride of Britain Awards?
Sam: Definitely. This is the second year I'll be hosting on the red carpet and I can't believe they've allowed me to come back [laughs]. Jokes aside though, it's probably the most special night of the year, and to be a part of it is awesome.
Pete: It's my favourite night of the year. It puts life into perspective and is an opportunity to meet real-life heroes. It gives the unsung heroes a voice.
