Since 2021, Charlene Douglas has been the sharp, sassy sex expert on Married At First Sight UK who helps the couples navigate all their intimacy issues as they embark on married life.
This year she’s been right in there with all of them, even getting a front row seat as Kwame and Kasia got up close and personal for the first time with a feather!
Charlene, 41, who sits alongside Mel Schilling and Paul C Brunson on the couch of experts, is a certified sex and relationship therapist, and has appeared on other dating series to pass on her wisdom. But it’s MAFS UK that has helped her to make her mark.
Here, Charlene chats about the latest series and fills us in on some insider gossip…
Hi, Charlene! What do you think compels people to go on the show?
Well, what better way to meet someone than to be matched by experts and then to have experts involved every week in your story helping you along the way. That is like gold. It takes a lot of bravery, a lot of courage to do this process. I’ve often been asked if I’d do it and the answer is, quite firmly, “no!” I think for them to do it shows how much they really want this.
Some of the pairings are quite surprising. They almost appear to have opposite personalities. Is this intentional?
