This year’s Oscars are just around the corner, which means the stars will have gone into overdrive to get red-carpet ready. They know they’ll be scrutinised from head to toe, so it’s little wonder they have personal glam squads on hand to help them look fabulous.
Alongside the usual stylists, hair and make-up artists, there will be another, more anonymous, behind-the-scenes pro on hand to get them honed and toned: the aesthetic doctor. You name the celebrity and you can reasonably expect they will have had every trick and tweak in the book to prepare for their moment in front of the cameras.
At my Harley Street Skin Clinic, we start our red carpet preparations at least six months ahead of the big night, polishing and preening, tucking and tightening from top to toe. Our efforts will be barely detectable though, and that’s just the way we like it.
Ready for a glance inside the extensive world of A-list skin prep? Here are the trendiest treatments the stars will be turning to in order to get trophy-worthy skin.
BODY CONTOURING
Body Ballancer is the new body contouring treatment that Jennifer Aniston swears by, and many other A-listers will book an appointment ahead of a big event. Some will even buy a machine to have at home.
The high-tech device looks like inflatable ski salopettes and uses compressed air to mimic the techniques of manual lymphatic drainage, increasing circulation, reducing water retention, softening cellulite and helping to contour the body.
