Singer-songwriter Anne-Marie may have given birth to her first baby back in March, but the Essex pop princess is already back to work, having performed to a huge crowd of adoring fans at Glastonbury Festival.
The 33-year-old, who welcomed her little girl, Seven, with her rapper partner Slowthai, tells us that being on stage is her “happy place”. But she admits it’s more of a juggling act now that she has to balance being a superstar and life with a newborn. Luckily, she tells us she’s been blessed with the “best baby possible” who, just like her mum, can’t get enough of music.
When asked how she is managing to juggle it all since welcoming her little one, she giggles, “I have no idea,” before confessing that she’s been taking a lot of time over the last couple of months “learning” the ropes of motherhood.
“Every day is different and every day I am learning something new. Before the festivals started this year I was just at home learning everything, but now I am going on the road and adjusting to that,” she says.
Luckily, Seven is already following in her mum’s footsteps, as Anne-Marie tells us she’s showing an interest in music.
It’s part of the reason the singer has been able to dive headfirst back into festival season, with Glastonbury and BST Hyde Park.
“A couple of years ago I did Pyramid Stage [at Glastonbury] and last year I went on with [rapper] Aitch for just one song. So it was good to actually go back and do a full set. I was so excited; it’s my favourite place ever.”
