When musician and actor Ray Quinn saw his stunning bride Emily Fletcher walk down the aisle in Peckforton Castle’s Great Hall, he felt for a moment as if they were the only two people in the room.
Watched by a sea of 70 smiling faces, Emily, 31, took her husband-to-be’s breath away as she approached him arm in arm with her dad Simon, accompanied by Coldplay’s A Sky Full Of Stars on piano.
“It was the moment I’d been waiting for,” an emotional Ray, 35, tells us when we catch up just a few days after their beautiful ceremony on Monday 2 October. “I caught sight of her and she looked absolutely amazing, I just burst into tears.
“All the emotion from the day, the night before and even the year we’d been planning the wedding, just hit me. I knew how Emily would’ve been feeling walking with her dad. It was overwhelming.”
Emily’s parents separated when she was a baby and she was brought up by Simon.
“He’s like my best friend, he raised me from when I was a little girl,” she shares, “so it was very, very special that he walked me down the aisle.”
We’re speaking to the couple over Zoom and they look every inch the loved-up newlyweds as they share kisses – and a few tears – over their memories. It’s obvious they’re still feeling all the emotion.
“I saw Ray and I didn’t take my eyes off him the whole way down the aisle,” Emily says, beaming. “I couldn’t believe I was about to marry the man of my dreams.”
