On Friday, King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla lit a candle at Buckingham Palace to mark Holocaust Memorial Day alongside Amouna Adam, a survivor of the Darfur genocide, and Holocaust survivor Dr Martin Stern. “I hope this will be one way of trying to remember all those poor people who had to suffer such horrors for so many years – and still do,” the King said.
Prince William met with finalists of the 2022 Earthshot Prize on Thursday during the Earthshot Prize Fellowship Retreat in Windsor. As he congratulated them on their achievements, William told one innovator that her story was “unbelievable”.
The same day, William and Kate visited Windsor Foodshare to hear more about the support the organisation provides to local individuals and families. They helped volunteers to sort food donations and prepare packages for the charity’s clients – and William teased Kate for “nattering too much”. The couple said on social media, “The donations and food packages make such a difference to those in the local area who need them. Hope we were more of a help than a hindrance when it came to the packing!”
