ON June 14, 2015, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard’s body was found in the bedroom of her Missouri home. She had been stabbed multiple times. The 48-year-old was known in the community as the doting mother of a profoundly disabled daughter. But as the investigation continued, the bizarre truth came to light: Dee Dee had subjected her daughter, Gypsy Rose, to unnecessary medical treatments for years — and the teen and her secret boyfriend were behind the murder. After eight years behind bars, Gypsy was freed from the Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri Dec. 28. (Nicholas Godejohn remains in prison for life.)
