From Beatlemania to Swiftiedom, fans have been fanning for as long as there have been celebrities to idolize. The trouble is, what starts out as a healthy love of someone's music or movies can rapidly take a dark turn. Now, though, some very famous women are hitting back and telling the world that enough is enough.

Singer Chappell Roan is one star who's open about struggling to cope with the levels of intense obsession from some of her devotees, describing them as "entitled." Roan, 26, who has soared to fame since releasing her debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, in 2023, has called out overzealous fans who she says stalk her family, bully her online and become abusive when she doesn't want to pose for photos or hug them.

"I don't care that this crazy type of behavior comes along with the job, the career field I've chosen," she said via TikTok. "That does not make it OK, that doesn't make it normal. That doesn't mean that I want it, that doesn't mean that I like it."
