They may have launched the Latin culinary brand Toma together, but when it comes to cooking, Sofía Vergara leaves that to her son, Manolo Gonzalez Vergara.

“I never cooked [when he was growing up],” admits the actress, 52, adding that Manolo, 33, took control of the kitchen from a young age — especially on holidays. “Like on Thanksgiving… he cooks turkey for everybody, 30, 40 people, and he’s done it since he [was] 14.” Adds Manolo, “I didn’t go to culinary school,” he quips of his talents, “I learned it on the streets!” While attending The Infatuation’s Eeeeeatscon New York, Presented by Chase Sapphire, the mother and son exclusively told Us more.

How are your palates different?

MGV I’m a little more open. She looks at salt and she freaks out!

SV I hate salty food because I feel like it covers the flavor and it also makes me swollen the next day. Water retention!
