She may be known as one of the funniest women in Hollywood, but Rebel Wilson admits that her climb to the top has been a roller coaster. “I am just so proud of my life and all the things that I’ve gone through,” says Wilson, 44, who recently gave a refreshingly honest look at her complicated childhood, alleged harassment in Hollywood, weight struggles and sexuality in her memoir, Rebel Rising. “I’m just at a point now where I can be really open,” she explains. “It’s kind of cathartic in a way to just put it all out there. And then now, I move on with the next chapters.”
That includes raising her daughter, Royce, with fiancée Ramona Agruma. (Wilson welcomed their little girl via surrogate in November 2022 following a years-long fertility struggle.) “I guess I didn’t know how motherhood was going to change my life,” admits the Pitch Perfect star. “It’s really hard. You’re a bit sleep-deprived. You can’t just leave the house. [But] it’s so great,” she adds. “[Royce] is just so cute and melts my heart.” Here, Wilson — who sat down with Us while promoting her partnership with the insect spray Zevo — talks more about her journey.
It’s been almost three months since your memoir was released. Did you expect this kind of success?
