AS HAPPY AS LARRY!

As the clocked ticked relentlessy towards midnight, the grumbling of the gathered guests at The Star Sydney, who were keen to get to the afterparty, began to drown out the presenters while viewers at home wondered how many more ads for The Voice they could endure. But those who made it to the end of the TV Week Logie Awards ceremony were treated to one of the greatest moments in its illustrious history when The Morning Show co-host Larry Emdur won the big prize of the night.

Accepting the Gold Logie, Emdur, the self-described "most axed man in television" delivered a humble, hilarious and heartfelt speech which ensured the long night was all worth it and ended on a high.

"I love this business so much. I love being in TV ... and I've never wanted to do anything else," the popular winner, who also picked up a Silver Logie, told the room full of his peers and his wife of almost 30 years, Sylvie.

But the win came at a price for the 59-year-old, who revealed that he had vowed to get his bum tattooed with the initials of his fellow nominees if he won. A man of his word, he did just that live on air the next morning while his “TV wife”, Kylie Gillies, watched on.
