Delta Goodrem Love is in the air

Euphoric. That’s how overseas fans reacted to seeing Delta Goodrem – their idol since the release of her debut album, Innocent Eyes, 20 years ago – performing right in front of them on her first-ever headlining tour across the UK and Europe. The feeling, she hopes, will linger through her current nine-date, sold-out Australian tour, in which she will celebrate the album that spawned five No. 1 singles, including ‘Born to Try’ and ‘Lost Without You’, by playing it in full.

“Seeing people in different corners of the world sing the lyrics back to me, even to the album’s deep cuts, or the new song [‘Back to Your Heart’] that only came out a few weeks ago, filled my heart with so much gratitude,” Goodrem, 38, tells WHO.

Recalling how in 2003, she was just 18 and undergoing treatment for Hodgkin lymphoma, she adds, “I feel I have been able to accept the love of that record that people had in their lives. Back when it was released, I was at home watching it be No. 1 from a hospital bed.”
