Ideally, she wouldn't have picked up this 800-page book. But as her exams were approaching, her parents had strictly prohibited her from buying new books. Besides, she had read all the other novels in the library, so she had to settle for this deadly dull book.
It was the day she had to return the novel. Before entering the library, she took it out of her school bag and sighed. Needless to say, she hadn't finished reading it.
"I could have written a much better book than this!" she muttered, opening the novel one last time to check if she had accidentally dog-eared any page. The librarian hated it when someone damaged a book.
Then, she stopped short. "Blank?!" she cried out, leafing furiously through the novel. "The pages have all gone blank! But how can that be possible? The words were all there when I went through it a while back!"
Ragini couldn't believe her eyes. She couldn't return this book. The librarian wouldn't accept it and would certainly impose a fine for messing with it.
Just then, there was a rustle inside her bag. Some tiny creature seemed to be moving inside. Ragini peeked into her bag, and a tiny boy emerged from amid her textbooks! She shrieked and dropped her bag and the book on the floor.
"Ow! My ear!" grimaced the tiny boy, scrambling out of the bag. "Your scream almost deafened me!"
