GERMAN CHAIR manufacturer Backforce has made some great gaming chairs for the premium end of the market, such as the 600 Backforce One and the 700 Backforce One Plus. Both chairs were perfect for those all-night gaming sessions, but it was the customization that set them apart, with a wealth of color options, personalized lapels to show off your clan or Gamertag, and adjustable LED lighting on the rear. Not all gamers can afford such luxuries, however, which has inspired Backforce to put its gaming chair know-how into a more budget model, the 400 Backforce V.
One of the big changes to this cheaper chair is that it requires some level of construction, but don’t worry, it’s not an Ikea-style mission of Allen keys and missing pieces. Though there is an Allen key involved, the building of the chair takes no more than 20 minutes, and the box it comes in acts as a support so you can do it yourself. The wheels, base, stand, arms, and headrest all need to be slotted or screwed together, much like the famed Swedish furniture store’s chairs one of which we were using before the Backforce V).

AMD's turn to drop the ball?
WITH INTEL'S RAPTOR LAKE CPUs falling over, the company firing around 15,000 employees, and cancelling its 2024 innovation event, AMD must have been enjoying the view - until its new Ryzen 9000 desktop CPUs rolled out. So, is AMD's CPU a minor stumble or game-changing fumble?
Intel issues fix for Raptor Lake degradation
EARLIER THIS YEAR, I wrote about difficulties I was having with a Core 19-13900K processor (see MPC230 Tech Talk). Little did we realize that we were only seeing the tip of the iceberg. While most complaints have involved the unlocked Core i9 Raptor Lake CPUs, it appears the instability problems build up and potentially impact many Raptor Lake-13th and 14th Gen Core CPUs, with Intel identifying 22 different desktop parts.
