Let's begin by making it clear that I am a petrol head. The sound and vibrations that let me truly feel that I have my foot pinned to the floor are just as important to me as the shove back into my seat. So, while performance EV's were something I scoffed at, the Jaguar l-Pace and the Porsche Taycan changed my perception. And now, the Audi RS e-tron GT has me blown away. Some might argue that the etron is a re-bodied Taycan, and while they may be technically correct, let me assure you, it has its own identity.

It is the World Car Of The Year Awards jury drive in LA, and we have a great route that involves driving through a bit of the city, the freeway, and a hill. I hit the start button on the RS e-tron GT, and the laser headlamps light up with a dance. Then, complete silence something unexpected in a performance car where you usually hear a nice gruff growl. I whir out of the garage, and everyone in the lobby turns around to look. It is a seductively stunning car. Low, slinky, and wide, its gorgeous styling is an eyeball magnet. The 20" rims are dynamic, and the silhouette steeply rakes down to the rear retractable spoiler in one fell swoop. The arrowhead LEDs in the tail lamps linked by a light bar add to the dramatic look. Whichever angle you view this vehicle from, it is one sexy car.
