EMPOWERING THE INDIAN ELECTION CAMPAIGN USING LIVE PRODUCTION SOLUTIONS

Ranjit Bhatti, Senior Director, South Asia LiveU

Our country's vast geographical expanse, diverse cultures, and myriad languages, spread across 28 states and eight union territories, present challenges for all political parties to effectively communicate with the almost billion-strong electorate.

Political campaigns inevitably involve extensive travel, with politicians often covering thousands of kilometers weekly to connect with voters. Despite this, the sheer size of the country necessitates additional strategies to reach a broader audience. For political parties seeking to address the voting public, the need for effective and engaging broadcast and digital coverage is paramount.

India is witnessing a huge growth in viewership of video content over various social media platforms, by people of all age groups. Political parties are increasingly using these platforms to post live video content to generate awareness of their work and ideologies amongst their voter base. By posting live videos consistently, they are able to keep their party workers and voters engaged on a day-to-day basis. Over a sustained period, this can result in an enhanced image and increased voter loyalty.
