After wrapping up eight seasons of Black-ish last year, Anthony Anderson was due for a break-and he wanted to spend it with his mother, Doris Hancox. "She taught me to be who I am and continue to work hard and everything else will follow," Anderson, 52, explains. In this case what followed was Trippin' With Anthony Anderson and Mama Doris (June 22 on E!), a reality series highlighting their six-week vacation through England, France and Italy. "Because of my work schedule, I'd yet to have an extended vacation," says Anderson, who has two children, Kyra, 27, and Nathan, 23, with his ex-wife Alvina Anderson. "So when the opportunity came to have fun like this, I asked my mom, and her first words were, Am I getting paid?"" Hancox, 69, an actress who raised the 11-time Emmy nominee in Compton, Calif., with his late stepfather Sterling Bowman, got the opportunity to experience skeet shooting, walking the runway at African Fashion Week and tasting some food she didn't exactly love. "It was great doing this with my mom," Anderson says. Here, the pair break it down for People.
