Joen King - 'EVERYTHING JUST FEELS SWEETER'

When Joey King needed a breather from the intensity of filming Hulu's We Were the Lucky Ones, a series based on the true story of a Jewish family torn apart while desperately searching for refuge during World War II, she and costar Eva Feiler turned to Disney.

"One weekend we were just like, 'We need to watch Finding Nemo," says the actress. "She came over, and we made a cheese board. We needed those nice moments with each other." King's 20-year career has been a series of nice moments. "The job is my favorite thing in the world," says the 24-year-old. "Being on-set-it's my happy place." 

King, who married director Steven Piet, 39, in September 2023, began acting in commercials at age 4 and soon appeared on two episodes of Disney Channel's The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. At age 7, the Los Angeles native "was at a bowling alley, and these little girls had just seen me on The Suite Life, and a swarm of them came over to me," recalls King. "I was signing paper plates that were meant for pizza."
