THE NEXT POWER PLAYERS

ZENDAYA

Actress, 27 Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman has grown up in the public eye. From her Disney Channel debut on the sitcom Shake It Up to her new film Challengers, about a love triangle in the tennis world, "I've lived many lives," she told People in February. In addition to starring in the Spider-Man and Dune franchises, she has extended her empire into fashion-she represents brands like Valentino and Louis Vuitton-and savors every opportunity: "I feel incredibly grateful to be able to have a job that lets you travel the world," she says.

TIMOTHÉE CHALAMET

Actor, 28 He's a new kind of leading man, pushing the envelope with surprising film roles (Willy Wonka, Bob Dylan) and dramatic fashion choices (that backless Haider Ackermann!). Following the box office boom of Dune: Part Two-$626 million globally and counting-Warner Bros. got down to business, offering Chalamet a multiyear deal to star in and produce his next projects. "You've got to soak it in and not take it for granted for a second," he told People in 2021.

LULU WANG

Filmmaker, 41 She relishes her Amazon Prime miniseries Expats, about three women adjusting to living in Hong Kong. "It's such a privilege to be able to tell deeply personal, specific stories and have them connect with people from all different walks of life," says the Beijing-born Wang, who also wrote and directed 2019's acclaimed film The Farewell. Her honest approach has made her a rising talent in Hollywood. Expats star Nicole Kidman cites Wang (along with other directors like Mimi Cave and Halina Reijn) as inspirations: "They're taking a huge bite out of this world right now."
