THROUGH THE PANDEMIC, PUNE singer-songwriter, guitarist and blues - musician Rohit Lalwani who fronts his revolving band Lal and the People found solace in the resonance of his own introspection. His latest offering, “Cryin’ Shame,” emerges as a poignant reflection of tumultuous times and deeply held convictions. For Lalwani, crafting this melodic narrative wasn’t merely an artistic endeavor but a cathartic journey through his disillusionment with the world.
He says, “Being a cynic, I’ve always viewed the human world as a realm that’s going in a downward spiral – a disaster waiting to happen. So, that notion coupled with being a prisoner in my own lair in the pandemic, the music I wrote was from the heart.”
