Having played an undercover spy in Cold War drama Deutschland 83 and its sequel series, Jonas Nay is used to immersing himself in harrowing periods of European history. But the actor admits that his latest role as real-life sadistic SS guard Stefan Baretzki in Holocaust drama The Tattooist of Auschwitz has been one of the most challenging of his career.
