Britain’s answer to legendary investigative journalists Woodward and Bernstein are back on the streets this week, notebooks in hand, as comedian friends Josh Widdicombe and Nish Kumar go searching for scoops in Sky’s six- part series Hold the Front Page.

The novice newshounds will be tracking down the country’s biggest and strangest stories once again, working as reporters for various local newspapers across the UK, beginning in the first episode with the County Press on the Isle of Wight.

Hired to provide online coverage during Cowes Week – the island’s busiest time of the year due to it hosting one of the biggest sailing races in the world – the hard-working hacks cross paths with none other than Princess Anne and TV’s Anneka Rice, as well as encounter local nudists and even get lost at sea.

We chatted to Widdicombe, 41, and Kumar, 38, to find out what else we can expect from the new run…

Was it good to be back tackling local news stories again?
