P.D. James’ brooding detective Adam Dalgliesh is back on our screens to offer his shrewd take on three complex new cases.
The third six-part run of Channel 5’s crime drama Dalgliesh is set in 1979. The cerebral cop (Bertie Carvel) has been promoted to Commander and is heading up a specialist unit dealing with high-profile cases.
In the two-part opener, he teams up with DS Daniel Tarrant (Alistair Brammer) to look into the murder of an archdeacon. But could romance blossom for widowed Commander Dalgliesh when, during the investigation, he meets art historian Emma Lavenham (Claire Goose)?
Here, Carvel, 47, reveals what’s in store in the new series…
