As this summer’s Ashes gets under way at Edgbaston on Friday, the five-Test series promises to be a belter, with England starting as favourites against holders Australia following a remarkable turnaround in their fortunes thanks to captain Ben Stokes and coach Brendon ‘Baz’ McCullum.
Stokes has requested ‘flat, fast wickets’ so England have the best chance to show off their ultra-aggressive ‘Bazball’ approach, which saw them go on a run of 10 wins in 12 Tests. But Australia can never be discounted and it promises to be a fascinating watch.
