NEW COMEDY DRAMA
Breeders
Friday, 10pm & 10.30pm, Sky Comedy & Sky Showcase (box set, Sky Box Sets/NOW)

When the first season of Breeders aired back in 2020, the biggest problem for parents Paul and Ally (Martin Freeman and Daisy Haggard) was getting their young children, Luke and Ava, to sleep at night.

However, times have changed as we rejoin the family for a fourth and final time on Sky this week.

Five years have passed since the dramatic finale of last year’s third outing, which saw Paul and Ally on the verge of splitting up and Paul’s troubled father Jim (Alun Armstrong) hospitalised after trying to take his own life.

Now, in the opening episode of a new 10-part run, the couple’s marriage is still hanging by a thread as the family celebrates Christmas together.

EXPECTING

Just as everyone is trying to get along and stay in the festive spirit over Christmas dinner, 18-year-old son Luke and his new girlfriend Maya (The Bay’s Deepica Stephen) surprise everyone by revealing they’re expecting a baby.
