A TOWN CALLED MALICE
THURSDAY, 9PM, SKY MAX & SKY SHOWCASE DRAMA (BOX SET, SKY BOX SETS/NOW)
Grab your shades and prepare for an intoxicating mix of neon-lit beach clubs, family sagas and gangland crime as Sky Max’s new thriller A Town Called Malice transports us to 1980s Costa del Sol to follow a sparky couple on the run.
Powered by a soundtrack of hits from the decade, the glossy eight-part series centres around Gene Lord (played by Jack Rowan), the youngest son of south London crime boss Albert Lord (The Walk-In’s Jason Flemyng) and his wife, Mint Ma (The Good Wife’s Martha Plimpton).
After Gene and his other half, Cindy Carter (The Tower’s Tahirah Sharif), become caught up in a high-profile gangland battle, the pair have no choice but to flee to Spain. The rest of the Lord clan aren’t far behind them, however, seeing the move as the perfect opportunity to try to revive former glories.
