TV Times heads to Australia as popular soap Neighbours makes a comeback

This year has already seen Cindy Beale come back from the dead' in BBC1's EastEnders and, now, there's another surprise soap resurrection on the cards as Australian favourite Neighbours makes a welcome return to our screens this week. So when a lucky TV Times was invited to visit the show's studios in sun-soaked Melbourne to take a special tour of the set and interview the cast, we couldn't wait to hop on a plane to find out what to expect from the revival...

THE STORY SO FAR…

In July 2022, Neighbours bowed out after 37 years on TV, with an action-packed and star-spangled prime-time double bill that celebrated its heritage (with Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue even reprising their iconic roles as Scott and Charlene), following Channel 5’s decision to axe the show.

However, much to the delight of the soap’s legions of fans, streaming service Amazon Freevee stepped in and ordered a whole new run of episodes, which will be released each Monday to Thursday starting from this week (see our guide on how to view, right). So, just months after waving farewell to Ramsay Street, some of the cast found themselves saying g’day to it again!
