In ITVX's warm-hearted six-part sitcom Ruby Speaking, the newly-single team member (played by comedian and Strictly Come Dancing 2022 star Jayde Adams) is warned by aggressively cheerful boss Vicki (Innocent's Katherine Kelly) that her job is hanging by a thread. Where do we find Ruby at the start of the series?

She has been working at the call centre for a little while, and she’s been late many times, so she’s told to sharpen up her act or she’s going to get the boot!

The thing about Ruby that’s different from other people is, she can ‘see’ the callers in front of her – she visualises them, and that’s how she manages to have such a close connection to them.
