Mae Muller is excited to be flying the flag for the UK at this year’s Eurovision. The London-born pop star will be the last act to compete in Saturday’s grand final, where she’ll showcase her heartbreak anthem I Wrote a Song.
As we cross our fingers for ‘douze points’ all round, Mae, 25, tells TV Times why the final is a dream come true, and how a mug could give her the upper hand…
What can we expect from your performance?
You can expect some sass! It’s going to be fun, and like a big party. It’s such a huge honour to be able to represent my country.
Have you got any advice from previous UK entrants?
Sam Ryder [who came second for the UK last year] was kind enough to send me some messages on Instagram. He said, ‘You’re going to smash it!’
His advice was to take every day as it comes; it’s such a whirlwind, so just enjoy it. I’ve been really trying to live by that.
