The societal battle between old and new money continues as we return to glittering 1880s New York City for a second series of Sky Atlantic’s The Gilded Age.
The new eight-part run finds ruthless nouveau-riche railroad tycoon George Russell (played by Morgan Spector) and his ambitious wife Bertha (Carrie Coon) still trying to secure their place among their established neighbours – caustic Agnes van Rhijn (Christine Baranski), her kindly sister Ada Brook (Cynthia Nixon) and their spirited niece Marian Brook (Louisa Jacobson).

David Platt thought he was proper clever when he nabbed the bag of dirty cash that Damon Hay had left for Sarah - with the unexpected windfall, he was able to buy No.8 from Gail. He's not quite so smug now, though, is he? The money, it transpired, belonged to Harvey Gaskell, Damon's brother, and the incarcerated gangster wants it back. With interest.
