RETURN TO PARADISE FRIDAY, 8PM (TIMES VARY), BBC1 DRAMA
Lloyd Griffith is a man of many talents. A classically trained choral singer, stand-up comedian and ex-host of Sky Sports show Soccer AM, the Grimsby-born actor is
now adding ‘sleuth’ to his list of credentials thanks to his role as Detective Senior Constable Colin Cartwright in BBC1’s Death in Paradise spin-off series Return to Paradise.
The six-part crime drama, which launches on Friday 22 November, sees maverick DI Mackenzie ‘Mack’ Clarke (Anna Samson) leave London’s Metropolitan Police under a cloud and return to her Australian home town, (fictional) coastal hamlet Dolphin Cove, where she teams up with communityminded Colin, who originally hails from England, to unravel mysteries.
Here, Lloyd, 41, whose credits also include Ted Lasso and Nolly, tells TV Times how he feels about joining the Paraverse…
The second episode sees Colin and Mack investigating the death of a wellness influencer during a fun run. How would you describe their different approaches to policing?
