PROFESSOR T FINAL WEDNESDAY, 9PM, ITV1 DRAMA

Emma Naomi and Barney White are skilled at playing it serious as dedicated detectives Lisa Donckers and Dan Winters in ITVi's crime drama Professor T. But when TV Times joins the actors for a video interview, we're delighted to find them already grinning from ear to ear...

'We love working together," smiles Emma. 'Barney is so good at improvising and bringing something that you don't expect, which really opens up the scene.

He's a great colleague!" 'Yes, it's such a pleasure sharing all the experiences of filming with Emma, agrees Barney. 'On screen, our characters have been through lots of ups and downs, but, off screen, we've remained fantastic friends. We enjoy going through scenes together over a cocktail!"

As the third series of the Cambridge-set whodunnit draws to a close this week, things are rosier than ever for their loved-up alter egos especially as Lisa's impending transfer to another station prompts Dan to take their relationship to the next level.

However, as the pair, along with Professor Jasper Tempest (Ben Miller), find themselves unravelling a dangerous web of lies after a woman is found dead at the scene of a car crash, will an unexpected turn of events change everything for everyone?

Here, Emma and Barney share their case notes…

This season saw Lisa take up her new position as Detective Inspector, while Dan remained a Detective Sergeant. How did you explore that change in their work dynamic?
